Chris Daughtry to appear on Sevendust's new album

On April 1, 7Bros. Records in conjunction with Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group are set to release Sevendust’ seventh studio release titled, Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow. Produced by Sean Groove, Morgan Rose & John Connolly in Atlanta, GA at Tree Sounds Studios. Hope & Sorrow will be their second release on the band’s wholly owned record label.
For the first time since Animosity (2001), the band has collaborated with outside artists. Chris Daughtry, a longtime fan of Sevendust's, will appear on the album as well as members of Alter Bridge. Chris Daughtry appears on the track "The Past" while Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge guests on "Hope" and Miles Kennedy of Alter Bridge on "Sorrow." Sevendust felt bringing in some outside friends added a healthy dynamic for the project. Additionally, the band has signed on new management and feels like is a fresh new beginning for 2008.
Sevendust has been announced as part of the first annual Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, a riotous road show packed with some of hard music's most influential artists and a plethora of the genre's most exciting young voices. The tour is set to kick off July 9th at the White River Amphitheatre in Seattle and will hit 30 cities in the U.S. and Canada between early July and late August (full itinerary to be announced in the coming weeks). Sevendust joins headliners Slipknot and Disturbed along with Dragonforce, Mastodon, Airbourne, Black Tide, Five Finger Death Punch and more.

Here's the performance of Daughtry's "You Don't Belong" in all it's Glory. Chris was right, except it only took one day to get to YouTube. Thanks to JasperPug of youtube for posting this one. This is sounds like a hit to me!

For some reason video embeds aren't posting, but there's a new video blog from Chris on Daughtry Official. Chris talks about Idol, the Grammys, Bon Jovi, and Daughty's new song, "You Don't Belong". Daughtry gets GOLD for Valentine's Day

Daughtry's digital single "Over You" has just received Gold Certification from the RIAA! Thanks go out to all the fans who helped make this possible!
Personally, I would have given them platinum for Valentine's Day.... but I'm BROKE. LOL
So, for this day when we honor those we love, I think everyone should go out and purchase a CD and give it to their favorite couple. Tell them you think "Crashed" is their song.. and walk away knowing you've infected someone else with Daughtritis and made the world a more rockin place!

Ellen interviews the boys after their Grammy loss. Although we still consider it a win to have been nominated for 4 awards based on a debut album. Check out the shiny new instruments!!!! Go guys go! I think this version will be a classic!

Chris Daughtry and Leona Lewis speak with Clive Davis and MTV before Clive's Pre-Grammy party.
Davis said he was also looking forward to Daughtry's performance at his event.
"You know Leona, don't you?" Davis said to Chris Daughtry, as the "Idol" finalist was just finishing his rehearsal for the event.
"Nice to meet you," Daughtry said to his labelmate.
Daughtry said it hasn't set in that his band's self-titled debut was the third-best-selling album of 2007.
"It's all kinda new, professionally," he said. "It's all a whirwind still. I don't know if I necessarily want it to feel like I've got it yet. I kind of like the fact that it still doesn't feel real."
"Let me tell you, it still doesn't feel real to me with the numbers of years I've been in it, so it better not feel real to you," Davis laughed.

Daughtry May Not Get Grammy Exposure

Daughtry has four Grammy nominations, but viewers may not see the band on Sunday's broadcast, even if they win each award.
"We don't even know if they are going to air our nominations yet," Chris Daughtry told The Associated Press on Thursday as they rehearsed for Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy blowout concert Saturday night.
"I've heard that we may not be shown, because it's the 50th anniversary and they are going to have a lot of back-to-back performances, so you may not even see us on TV," the 28-year-old singer said.
Although the Grammys award 110 trophies, only about 10 percent of the categories are shown on the live CBS telecast; most of the show is jam-packed with performances.
"You may see us on the red carpet and peace out, because we probably already took home all four," he joked.
Daughtry, the namesake of the "American Idol" finalist, had one of last year's best-selling albums with their self-titled debut, which is among the nominees for best rock album. But they face competition from rock veterans ranging from U2 to Bruce Springsteen to the Foo Fighters in their categories.
When asked about their stiffest competition, Daughtry said: "It's the Foo Fighters and the Boss. You can't deny that everybody who's ever up against him loses."

Chris Daughtry speaks about the Grammys and Idol

CHRIS DAUGHTRY and his band are nominated in four categories at the Grammy Awards this weekend, but Chris tells TV Guide that one of those categories definitely means more to him that the others: Best Rock Album. Chris says, "That's what we are, and I want people to realize that. [It may be] rock with pop sensibility, [but] we are a rock band."In one Grammy category, Daughtry are actually competing against BON JOVI, with whom they'll tour later this month. When asked if he and JON BON JOVI will duet on "Wanted: Dead or Alive" during the tour, Chris says, "You bet your ass we will!"When asked to comment on the fact that contestants will be allowed to play instruments on this season of American Idol, Chris said, "I think [they] should be forced to write a song on the show and perform it. That'd bring some new life to the show. Audiences would take it more seriously."
